Matcha is an incredibly versatile drink that can be tailored to your personal preference. By adjusting the amount of matcha and choosing whether to enjoy it with water, milk or other ingredients (our Cloud, of course), you can easily transform its strength, texture and flavour, creating a variety of unique drinking experiences.

The traditional way (with water) highlights the full character of the tea — its subtle natural sweetness, layered umami and gentle bitterness. It offers the purest expression of the leaves and is the best way to appreciate the quality, complexity and craftsmanship of ceremonial-grade matcha.

With milk creates a softer, creamier drink that naturally mellows the earthy notes while enhancing matcha's sweetness. Whether paired with dairy or plant-based milk, it offers a smooth, comforting cup that's ideal for everyday enjoyment while still delivering matcha's signature calm, focused energy.

Here are some general steps to prepare matcha, but as mentioned, experiment with different recipes and find your favourite way to enjoy matcha. After all, it’s the journey that makes this ritual so enjoyable.

1. Sift 2–4g of matcha into a bowl.

2. Add 80–100ml of water at 70–80°C. Avoid boiling water.
3. Whisk quickly in a “W” or “M” motion for 30 seconds until foamy.

4. Slow the whisk near the surface for another 30 seconds to create a smooth foam.

5. Enjoy as it is, with added water or milk.
